Better Than A Million Dollar Lottery Win…
Do you remember the feeling of seeing someone you were attracted? It makes the heart bump, doesn't it?
Have you ever stood on stage in front of a sea of faces that you know well and pulled out your notes to make a speech? Boy does the vibration of shaking liven you up!
Have you ever felt the breeze on your face, either during a hot-air balloon ride or by sticking your head through the car sunroof? It wakes your senses up, doesn't it?
And on a scale of 1-10 how much does your heart bump, body shake and senses wake when you do your day job? I bet you can practically do the tasks with your eyes shut. In fact I bet there are days when you feel like you did have your eyes shut?
Most people don't feel awakened by their day jobs. Their role lacks excitement and the chores get done with a distinct lack of passion. In many places of work you often hear people making a, "If I have to work for a living I'd sooner do something I enjoy," kind of statement.
However finding or creating work that engages you to the extent that you lose track of time isn't easy, is it?
Many people find themselves in the place of having money and all the trappings, yet still feel unhappy and not knowing why.
Part of the issue here is that they/you probably don't attach any other meaning to work except the money taken home at the end of the month. And if you won the lottery this weekend, would we see you at work on Monday?
Probably not.
But I want to give you an example of a guy I know living his life purposefully and totally engaged in his work. He used to be obese. He used to pack in a minimum nine hours sleep each night, he often got ill and he was forever counting the clock down at work.
Now he has lost 84 pounds, works in timeless awareness - where time slips by unnoticed - sleeps on average 5-6 hrs per night and wakes up raring to go in the morning. In fact on a summer morning he's worked for an hour, jogged six miles, done an hours yoga and is sitting at the breakfast table by 8am. Also he's not seen a doctor in three years and had only one cold or virus!
The weight loss will give him years extra to live and the lack of pharmaceutical drugs in his body means his major organs are no longer breaking down and continuing the illness cycle. And the extra hours he now has because he is not sleeping… well these give him just over two moths extra living each year!
And the good news is he began as an 'ordinary' person and learned to make extra-ordinary changes when he discovered and began to understand his Life Purpose.
If you don't feel engaged in your work it is probably because you are not working close to your life purpose or because your natural talent and ability is being choked.
If you feel apathy in your work, lethargic or are suffer from weight issues it is well worth taking a look at your life purpose.
Best Wishes
Jo

The Right Focus On Tort Reform The recent headlines about Merck's Vioxx withdrawal and the FDA's move to ban ephedra have brought a lot of media attention to the growing area of drug litigation. On April 12, 2004 the FDA published a rule banning health supplements that contain ephedra alkaloids. The FDA concluded that the limited short term weight loss effects were outweighed by possible heart problems and stroke risks. The market gap caused by the banning of ephedra has been filled by many new companies that are marketing products similar to ephedra. However, these “ephedra alternatives” may not be any safer than the banned ephedra that they replace. The FDA's ephedra ban, and Merck's Vioxx withdrawal h...

| Weight - Overview Of Web Content Management Systems What are Content Management Systems (CMS) / Backend Systems?Although Content Management Systems may vary slightly among industry definitions, a common usage for a Content Management System is to add new content (information, articles, photos, music) to a website. Dependent upon the complexity of the System, a CMS may additionally offer web page content removal and modification functionality. The true benefit of using such technology for a small to medium sized business owner is reduced maintenance time (as a well designed system should make adding content extremely easy) and the elimination of a web designer for basic site maintenance. Due to the empowerment offered by Content Management Systems to average computer users, the popularity of these systems are beginning to gr... | |
| Weight - Infants And Acid Reflux Infant acid reflux is quite common. People of all ages, especially infants because they consume only liquids or soft foods, suffer from mild heartburn or acidic regurgitation on occasion. As in adult cases, infants experience acid reflux when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is relaxed. The LES acts as a valve between the esophagus and the stomach. It opens up to allow food into the stomach and then closes in order to protect the esophagus and other organs from acidic reflux. Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine if an infant has developed a chronic form of heartburn called gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD. In order to determine if an infant has a chronic form of heartburn (GERD) you should consult your ... | |
| Weight - Beating The Freshman 15 It's a fairly accepted 'fact' among college age women that they will gain weight their first year away from home. It's so well accepted, in fact, that nearly anyone will know immediately what you mean when you refer to the 'Freshman 15'. The research doesn't quite bear it out, though. One study conducted 15 years ago found that incoming freshman did gain weight at higher rates than their peers who did not attend college, but the average weight gain for the stressful freshman year was 7 pounds, less than half the mythical 15 pounds they'd been told to expect. Even more encouraging is that a more recent study of college weight gain monitored the wei... | |

| Weight - Why Are We Overweight? Why are we overweight? This question has been asked many times and we all have different answers. The most common is because we eat too much, especially junk food, and exercise less. It is easy to say, I will lose weight and keep it off. Reality is that when we eat more calories than we can use for energy, our bodies store fat. The issue is whether we are seriously committed to change our lifestyle, adopt healthier habits and exercise more. After we gain weight, we find difficulty losing it. There is hope. Increasing our fat burning metabolism will help us lose weight. Most people have tried many diets, such as quick weight loss diets with the hope of loosing that unwanted fat, yet failed to keep the weight off. Why? Because quick diets are not the answer. Think for a moment, we d... | |
